Please join us for an information session about Hive NYC’s new Youth Digital Media Evaluation cohort on Tuesday, November 1st at 1:00p.
As mentioned during our last community call, we are partnering with Algorhythm to launch a pilot cohort focused on evaluating the effectiveness of youth-focused digital media programs on improving social and emotional learning (SEL) outcomes for youth.
This cohort will be a group of 8-12 Hive NYC members, and will run from December through mid-summer 2017. Participants will receive free technical assistance in setting up an evaluation and reporting tool for their digital media learning (DML) programs, identify positive youth development outcomes that are most relevant to DML, and work with a core group of Hive members in a peer learning environment. Cohort participants will meet approximately once per month in a series of in-person and online meetings. The outcomes of this cohort will be shared in a Hive NYC report to our peers and stakeholders in the DML, education, and youth development fields.
Our guiding questions for this project:
- How and to what extent do digital media programs drive SEL outcome gains?
- How and to what extent are digital media programs using positive youth development practices? Which of these practices support the greatest gains within DML contexts?
- How do digital media programs compare to other youth development programs in their ability to drive SEL outcomes?
We are now looking for members who would like to participate in this cohort. Please RSVP for our information session here if you’re interested.
